Tenth Leper

ministry

Our vision

I pray that Tenth Leper Ministries would primarily provide hope and inspiration for  broken, lost and hurting people. That we could also, with God’s help, provide tangible resource and interaction needed to support them as they begin their journey and experience the life changing power of God’s love.

I would like this to be a group participation website. I would like to invite people to get involved and see it as their website, our website, a place where we not only identify and post needs, but also participate collectively in solutions with a greater resource than any of us have individually. In reality this website will be a information hub and point of contact, nothing more. The life changing power that I hope to see manifest from this fellowship will be a result of the loving commitment of it’s members, and that commitment is first and foremost to God the Father and Jesus Christ His Son, as revealed to use through the Holy scriptures, The Bible. I know that there are others like myself, growing uneasy with the complacency and compromise surrounding our lives, being equally aware and convicted of the life of faith we have been called to live, and seeing the contrast between the two, are ready for change.

more than just playing church and talking about how great God is, we need to be living lives that declare to the world around us that God is real, that he is faithful, that he is all powerful, that he answers prayer, that he honors faithfulness to his word and that he loves every person walking the face of this earth simply because their sucking air, and He proved it at the cross. These are not empty personal opinions or positive affirmations that I confess daily, so I can be a better and more beautiful me. These are absolute Biblical Truths, that I simply need to believe and abide in, as I live out the life of faith that God has called me too.

We should not be interested in declaring a new work of God or protesting the current state of the church, any given denomination or religious organization. If we believe in the lordship of Jesus Christ and trust in His redemptive work on the cross, we simply need get over ourselves and past our own egos, return to our first love and out of gratitude present our lives a living sacrifice, which is our reasonable service. As the Spirit of God ignites that flame within our heart and we begin to burn with desire to serve him, we should stay where we are in the body of Christ and allow that flame to ignite the people around us.

1 John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life— the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us— that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.

There is no “new” work of God, there is only a continued work of God. Our fellowship with God is either established or severed, He is on the throne of my life or I am in rebellion. If Jesus is established on the throne of my life, am I focused on him and his will for my life or am I distracted by the cares of this world? As I look for purpose and fulfillment in life, is He the first or last place I look?

Psalm 32 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. Do not be like the horse or like the mule, Which have no understanding, Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, Else they will not come near you.

The God of creation is willing to instruct us and teach us in the way we should go. Do I see my desperate need for his instruction? if I do, am I willing to receive it, am I teachable? or am I stubborn like the mule which only responds to pain and discomfort or restraint. If I am willing, am I ready? Do I constantly look in his direction, anxiously awaiting his instruction? he loves us enough to use the bit and bridle as david declares, “Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me”. yet God’s desire is that we receive his instruction, grow in understanding, causing within us a desire to draw near him without bridle or bit. I don’t believe it could be better said

“My dear friend, God loves you, therefore
seek Him diligently,
pray to Him earnestly,
read His word continually.”
Robert Evans

This simple truth and instruction, if taken to heart and practiced, will change our life and influence the world around us, in Jesus name. We have God’s word on it.
